Seventy-two percent of employers plan to add additional voluntary benefits, according to a survey from Buck. Since the start of the pandemic, 52% of employers added an average of six new voluntary benefit offerings to demonstrate support for the well-being of their employees. Ninety-seven percent of employers surveyed offer at least one voluntary benefit, up from 88% in 2020. The average employer offers 12 voluntary options. 

Sixty-three percent of employers say they are adding voluntary benefits to increase job satisfaction, engagement, and the ability to attract and retain talent. Sixty-eight percent of employees agree that voluntary benefits are essential elements of a comprehensive benefits package.
