The past few years have been extremely challenging for most workers and employers in the US. There continues to be economic uncertainty as inflation keeps rising. Plus, the job market is becoming increasingly competitive across all sectors, causing continuous problems for employers to retain their best employees.
According to a recent AHIP Coverage@Work survey, a majority of respondents (65%) reported that their employer-provided coverage gives them financial peace of mind. This “financial peace of mind” plays a huge and defining role in their overall health, happiness, and wellness.
Survey respondents also reported that employer-provided coverage plays an important role in employee recruitment (68%) and an even more important role in employee retention (77%).
In other words, companies have to offer competitive benefits solutions if they want to both attract new workers and retain top-tier talent. In doing so, the companies will strengthen their workforce and ensure that it stays productive.
However, one interesting conclusion from the survey is that it matters more to consumers that their coverage is “comprehensive” (60%) rather than “affordable” (40%). This means that workers are willing to pay a little more for better benefits solutions.
“Employer-provided coverage empowers over 180 million Americans to maintain and improve their health and helps provide financial security for themselves and their loved ones,” said Matt Eyles, AHIP President and CEO.
At CoPower, we take pride in providing employee benefit solutions to meet this demand and help companies attract and retain the best talent.
